Udalguri SBI’s poor service irks customers

Udalguri, May 9 – Udalguri town, being the district headquarter of Udalguri district, has emerged as a business hub and centre of all district-based government activities. As a result, the lone State Bank of India branch in the heart of Udalguri town has gained prominence with multile increase in its customer base. Crores of rupees are transacted daily through this branch. But to the utter dismay of its customers, the SBI Udalguri branch has failed miserably to meet the requirements of its customers. A glaring example of this insensitive attitude towards its customers came to light on Wednesday when the accountant of the branch, Abhinash Narzary was found drunk and senseless for more than five hours in the canteen of the bank. This adversely affected service thus creating a lot of trouble to the customers on the weekly market day of Udalguri town.When contacted a section of bank officials expressed their ‘helplessness’.
Talking to this correspondent a section of worried customers said that they were not satisfied at all with the functioning of the bank despite several requests to the bank authority to improve the customer care service.It is worthmentioning here that the present premises of the bank is hardly specious to accomodate the customers of the bank.
Now, the customers of the bank are waiting with expectations to see if the higher authority of the SBI take any step to improve the customer service in Udalguri branch of SBI.
