HOWRAGHAT, Jan 28 – Under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police, Karbi Anglong district, NN Goswami, police apprehended NDFB cadre Mwgthang Basumatwry (24), of Narsingh Para village under Borburi police station of Nalbari district, here recently at Tilapara of Dokmoka outpost under Howraghat police station at around 7.30 pm.
Goswami informed over telephonic conversation that after receiving prior specific information of entry of a group of NDFB cadres for extortion, the police team launched a search operation while one militant of the group was nabbed, the others managed to escape. One M20 pistol, one magazine and eight rounds of live ammunition were recovered from his possession, police sources added.
