Governor inspects development projects

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 6: Asom Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Ajai Singh today visited a number of development projects of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and expressed satisfaction over the progress of work.
Singh assessed the ongoing construction of the Rs 24-crore urban water supply scheme at the Gauhati University Kokrajhar campus. He said that he has given keen interest towards the development of higher educational institutions in the BTC area. The 15 colleges of the BTC region will get affiliation and the fund for the infrastructure development of the colleges will be flown in from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India, under UGC guidelines, he added.
The Governor visited the new BTC Secretariat building at Kokrajhar and the UN Brahma cultural complex. The Governor later held a meeting at the BTC Secretariat with the district administration officials and leaders of political parties.
