ABSU’s move for educational revolution


KOKRAJHAR, Oct 23: A bicycle rally organized by the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) to spread the message of quality education among the masses in interior areas got off to a flying start yesterday at the KDSA playground. The rally will cover all the districts of Asom with a view to pressing for quality education to face the rising challenge under the rapidly advancing global trend.

Former Indian Ambassador Upen Boro flagged off the bicycle rally while the president of the ABSU Rwngura Narzary hoisted the organizational flag before he led the rally along with his senior colleagues who are taking part in the month-long exercise.

Speaking to the gathering at KDSA playground former Indian Ambassador Upen Boro said that the bicycle rally organized by the ABSU to press for quality education among the masses would usher a new revolution among the student community. He said the aim of the ABSU for quality education for all round development of the society was highly laudable and reflected the real vision of the ABSU.

The president of the ABSU Rwugwr Narzary said education was the only means to usher development in the society. He said the ABSU would work for its mission quality education programme accepting it as a challenge and would overcome all hurdles in the way.

Meanwhile, the month-long bicycle rally organized to spread the message of quality education among the rural masses drew huge public attention. The rally comprising more than 400 ABSU leaders led by its president and general secretary Rwngwara Narzary and Gauam Mashahary today reached Dawaguri near West Bengal after holding meetings at Tipkai Monglijhara and Bashbari of the then Dhubri district.

Speaking to The Sentinel, the general secretary of Kokrajhar district committee of the ABSU Lawrene Islary said that the people’s response to their mission for quality education that began with a meeting at Balanga in Dotma was positive.

He said a meeting was held at Bashbari in undivided Dhubri district today and later, the rally proceeded towards Dawaguri connecting Srirampur along Asom-West Bengal border. A big public meeting held at Dawaguri was addressed by retired principal of Gossaigaon college Dr Kameswar Brahma.
