Sonitpur district ABSU convention ends

TEZPUR, Jan 29 – ABSU has been working sincerely and with persistent effort to establish Boro nationalism reflecting socio-economic development of the people, observed ABSU president Rwngwar Narzary while speaking in the open-session of 35th annual convention of Sonitpur District Committee ABSU on Thursday at Balishang under Biswanath sub-division of Sonitpur district organised by SDC, ABSU in collaboration with Biswanath Anchalik ABSU.
Attending the programme as chief guest, Narzary further stated that for over-all development, conflict arising now and then among the Boros has to be avoided, particularly the divestitive arms culture which has been affecting the Boros since long. It should be eradicated as soon as possible and in this regard intellectuals working in different fields of the Boro society have to extend their helping hand and come forward.
Attending the session as guest of honour Public Relations secretary, ABSU. Budhiram Basumatary said the union has been standing at every critical moment facing the Bodos. He further stated that a nation can never develop unless it progressed in the field of education. Hence, in the nation building process, all sections of society have to be involved.
The session held under the chairmanship of SOC, ABSU Khungkhara Basumatary, Kishor Narjazry, Secretary, ABSU, ex-president of Tezpur district Boro Sahitya Sabha Liladhar Boro, presidents and secretaries of Sonitpur district committee AAGSU, AATTSA, AASU and many other well-known personalities of the locality.
Prior to it district secretary of SDC, ABSU Budhan Boro read-out the annual report highlighting major national issues taken-up by the union during the last one year. Tepuram Boro AGS, SDC, ABSU thanked the guests and personalities while offering vote of thanks.
