Bodo Primary Teachers’ Association meet

SILAPATHAR, Jan 29 – The 19th annual conference of All Bodo Primary Teachers’ Association, Assam was held at SB Bodo High School, Simen Chapari with a two-day-long programme on January 21 and 22.
The first day’s programme began with children’s function which was inaugurated by Granthom Saikia, SI Jonai circle. The meet was chaired by Subodh Basumatary, ex-president Jonai Bodo Primary Teachers’ Association. The souvenir Swrangari Phungkha was inaugurated by Mihineswar Basumatary, asstt teacher, SB Bodo High School, Simen Chapari.
At 2.30 pm, a meeting of central working committee was held. The delegates’ hall was opened by Monuram Basumatary, while the delegates session was inaugurated by Lalit Ch Bodo, president, JDBBS.
On the second day, the programme began with flag hoisting by Krishna Das Swargiary, president of ABPTA, which was followed by homage to martyrs by Khogen Daimary, VP of ABPTA. A seminar was held on quality education, which was inaugurated by Gopin Brahma, HM of SB Bodo High School under the chairmanship of Mohilal Basumatary, VP of ABPTA. Promod Boro, VP of ABSU, Dilip Kr Gogoi, BEEO Murkongselek and Sabet Basumatary, Simen Chapari College spoke as resource persons in the seminar.
The programme came to an end with the open session which was presided over by the president of ABPTA, Krishna Das Swargiary. Attending as a chief guest in the open session, Chandan Brahma, Minister of P&RD and Transport, Assam urged the teachers community for hard labour to increase the quality of education and requested the teachers to prepare the students habits of village area to compete the UPSC from their childhood.
He also urged the Bodo people to unite to solve the problems of Bodo medium schools.
Delivering the inaugural speech Kamala Kt Mushahary, secretary of BSS asked the government to form separate elementary education board for Bodo-medium students. He also expressed that government has spent several lakhs of rupees to uplift the education, but progress of quality education is not send in the rural area. The open session was addressed by Mukul Dutta, DPOTT SSA, Dhemaji, Sachin Doley, principal of Simen Chapari College, Krishna Kt Baruah, DEEO, Dhemaji, Bhoben Deori, asstt IS Dhemaji, Phuleswar Pegu, president Jonai ME School Teachers Association, Lalit Bodo, president Jonai BSS, Horish Goyari, president ULDC, ABSU, among others.
