4 pythons rescued by NGO, Forest Department

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 11: An NGO — Discovery — and the Forest department today rescued four pythons from near the Lahonpara area, Bombraguri, under Patgaon police outpost and released at the Chokrosila Wildlife Sanctuary.
According to sources from the Forest department, wood-cutters of Lahonpara village brought the pythons from the jungle. A joint team of the NGO and the Forest department went to the village after getting information about four pythons being kept hidden. The four pythons weigh 47 kg, 21 kg, 12 kg and 9 kg respectively. Later, the team took the pythons to the Chokrosila Wildlife Sanctuary and released it in the presence of departmental officials. The sources added that altogether 15 pythons have been released at the Chokrasila Wildlife Sanctuary.
