Stage set for Bodoland Day

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 2: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) are all set to observe the fifth Bodoland Day in a befitting manner on February 10 at the BTC secretariat complex field at Kokrajhar.
BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said that the Council would observe the Bodoland Day in a different manner this year. The council will hoist the flag having the Bodoland map.
Mohilary added that all the departments of BTC will hoist the Bodoland flag in their respective offices. The Bodoland flag would also be hoisted by various NGOs and semi-government offices.

Mohilary said the Bodoland Day would be celebrated jointly by Kokrajhar and Chirang districts at BTC secretariat complex field, Kokrajhar while Baksa and Udalguri districts will observe the day at Mushalpur and Udalguri towns respectively. He also said there will be attractive cultural programmes, march past and other demonstrations.
On the other hand, the chairman of ARTFED Biswajit Daimary announced that ARTFED will sponsor the cultural nite during the Bodoland Day celebration where artistes from Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi have been invited.
