‘BPF trying to gain political mileage over Bengtol’

GUWAHATI, March 23: The police firing incident at Bengtol in Chirang district can be compared to the Jalianwala Bagh massacre, where innocent people lost their lives in both cases. However, in spite of the gravity of the situation, the Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has been trying to gain political mileage from the incident.
This was stated in a press release by the Bodoland People’s Progressive Front (BPPF) today. The BPPF also stated that in spite of the BPF’s alliance in the Tarun Gogoi-led Asom Government and in spite of having 12 MLAs in the Assembly and three ministers in the Cabinet, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary and Transport Minister Chandan Brahma have failed to raise the issue in the House.
