Sarania Kacharis deprived of their rights’

GORESWAR, Oct 30 – The first annual foundation day of the Sarania Kachari Ganatantrik Nari Mancha was observed at Goreswar Community Hall on October 26 with a day-long programme with the cooperation of its Goreswar unit and All Assam Sarania Kachari Students’ Union.
Inaugurating the open session, Sarat Deka adviser, AASKSU said that no struggle can succeed without the full cooperation of women.
The open session was chaired by Baneswari Sarania, president, Sarania Kachari Ganatantrik Nari Mancha (SKGNM).
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Ramesh Das, adviser, All Assam Sarania Kachari Students Union (AASKSU) said that the Sarania people had been deprived of their constitutional rights as a result of which they are united in a single platform.
He also said that all political parties are using the Sarania community people as second class citizens for their election benefit. He stressed his speech on tribal status.
Delivering his speech, Binod Narzary, one BTC Act signatory said, that Sarania-Kacharis should try to solve their problems through discussion.
Kailash Mazumdar Deka, chairman, ITDP suggested that the Sarania-Kachari community should be united for their struggle for ST status.
