ABSU blames Govt

KOKRAJHAR, March 20: Concerned over the deteriorating law and order situation in the BTC region, the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has asked the State Government to take immediate steps to stem the violence in the region.
The president and general secretary of ABSU Rwngwra Narzary and Gautam Mashahary in a press release said that they have been urging the district administration to arrest those involved in the violent activities.
The students body alleged that though the region is burning, the State Government is totally ignoring the situation to gain some narrow political mileage. The ABSU cautioned that the State Government that it would be held responsible for any more violence in the region. The release also strongly condemned the killing of Bigrai Basumatary, the general secretary of Surrendered NDFB Welfare Association by unknown miscreants and asked the perpetrators behind this incident to put a stop to such barbaric acts. It also said that fighting within the family will lead Bodo society nowhere.
The ABSU through the release appealed to all political parties and the warring groups to desist from violence for the greater interest of Bodo society. It said that peace and development should be the number one priority and divisive politics must be done away with.
